Perfection!!
Perfection, Perfection, Perfection!!!, what a perfect little word to stress about right? Why are we so obsessed with perfection? Who set these standards?
Sometimes these kind of questions just bugs me. Nowadays due to Instagram, everyone wants to show how perfect they are or how perfect their lives are, how the food that they are having looks aesthetically pleasing and much more.
The whole point of Instagram was for people to show themselves immersed in their lives so much that they don't care about filters and emojis and which side of their face is more photogenic.
I genuinely feel that the generation of our parents was so sorted because they were so busy living their own lives that they didn't even care about Ramesh sitting in the opposite corner of the globe, eating or where he was going with his friends.
I sometimes feel so overwhelmed after being on Instagram for a while and seeing reels and posts of someone my age who is earning lakhs or how broken a 14-year-old is feeling after ending his 5-year-old relationship. This is one of the major reasons why people feel depressed. We all are watching content like this and discarding all the milestones we have overcome throughout our lives and just feeling sad about other people's fortunes.
Instagram has actually become one medium to brag about the nice things you wear nice food you eat luxuries things you have etc. We can't blame people for doing it because let's face it we are also somewhere doing the same thing and if you are not then congratulations I envy you.
Why just brag about materialistic things then? most importantly why brag at all? For whom are you doing this?
I know this is quite a 'subjective' matter or rather I would say in the words that most people like, a 'controversial' matter.
I read a quote once which said, 'We are not what we think we are, we are not what others think we are, we are what we think others think we are' and as soon as I heard this quote my whole cringe life just passed by me and all I could do about it now is just laugh and move on to better things.
Why show people what they are expecting of us? Why not just be you for a change and see the change happening within yourself and the people around you. I know it is easier said than done it will take time but I can guarantee you that by doing this you will come to know how interesting and amazing you are.
It will be the same feeling the Butterfly gets as it breaks its cocoon and awakes from its deep slumber to fly with its unique colors wrapped around itself as if its aura, and we would be mere spectators with pure awe in our eyes.

We brag because humans seek validation on basic matters as well.
